You’re considering the fall season for your engagement photos, and that means lots of beautiful colors! If you know me well, then you know that fall is my favorite time of year for photos. Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA is the perfect location for the most magical fall engagement photos. If you’re a lover of plants, nature, and stunning views (like me) you’ll love Longwood Gardens! I could rave about this place forever. There are amazing photo opportunities along the scenic paths and in the gardens. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous – there are so many places within the park you can go for a timeless, elegant feel. You can get photos with luscious fall colors, next to fountains, gorgeous stone structures, by benches and backdrops covered in greenery, just to name a few.

Longwood Gardens Conservatory Photos

I highly recommend beginning your Longwood Gardens photo journey inside the breathtaking conservatory. Longwood changes the plants and colors within the conservatory seasonally, and I loved all of the yellows and oranges on display in October. The colors of the foliage will really enhance the seasonal aesthetic for your engagement session.

Fountain Gardens at Longwood

From Longwood’s conservatory, it’s a short walk to the main fountain gardens. Additionally, you can stop for some seated poses along the beautiful vine wall, or pose amongst the pathways of trees. I love the intricate stone detailing and architecture of the grotto. There is so much that the fountain gardens have to offer.

Gorgeous Waterfall Photos at the Eye of Water

There are plenty of other beautiful photo opportunities within the park, so I recommend taking a look at the longwood gardens map beforehand. You can also ask my opinion on the best photo locations, and what time of day they are best to shoot at. One of my favorite locations within the gardens is the Eye of Water. Situated past the Chimes Tower, you’ll follow a short path to get to the waterfall. You can stand on the rocks that line the falls and even grab some seated photos closer to the water if you’re feeling adventurous!

Flash and Nighttime Photos, a Fairytale Ending to your Longwood Gardens Engagement Session

If it’s dark and cloudy on the day of your session or you lose sunlight early, don’t fret! This is the perfect opportunity for some flash photos and dreamy silhouettes.
